FEES

I offer a free phone consultation to talk with you about what led you reach out, give you a sense of how I work, and address any initial questions you may have. You can contact me here to request a call. If after talking together we decide to go forward, we can find a good time to meet in person for an initial 50-minute session.

My fee for a 50-minute session is $150 which is mid-range for the Bay Area. I have a limited number of sliding scale slots for those with financial constraints, particularly for clients who are just out of college in the early earning years and for those whose work, health or living situation limits their ability to pay.

It's best to decide how and whether to use your insurance to pay for therapy after reviewing your options and thinking carefully about your values and resources.

It may be helpful to consider that many experienced therapists opt out of insurance networks because they are paid a fraction of their full rate. Out-of-network therapy gets reimbursed at a higher rate, usually paying a percentage of the full fee or a higher flat fee.

Using your insurance to cover out-of-network therapy gives you more options for finding an experienced therapist. And it allows for your therapist to be paid a fair fee while significantly reducing your costs, in some cases by more than half. It also supports our ability to lower fees for those who could not otherwise afford to see a therapist.

If you want to use your insurance, I will be able to submit claims on your behalf.

If I am out-of-network, I can provide detailed receipts for you to submit for reimbursement from your insurance provider, Health Savings (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

It's a good idea to call member services to learn what your plan's out-of-network benefits will cover for therapy.

I am in network with Blue Shield,  Claremont EAP and Medicare.

I am an out-of-network provider with Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna, United Behavioral Health/Optum and other PPOs.
